Iowa Mercury Podcast: Presidential candidate David Stuckenberg
He makes an anti-abortion argument this long-time journalist has never heard before
David Stuckenberg - a Tampa, Florida businessman with a long background in the military - entered the presidential nominating process in the last week for a sprint to the Jan. 15 Republican caucuses in Iowa.
The Iowa Mercury launches a new podcast series today with an interview with Stuckenberg, a 42-year-old Air Force Reserve major with a key role in the Texas Air National Guard, an entrepreneur who focuses on water scarcity.
Iowa Mercury spent part of two days with the GOP presidential candidate who is fiercely opposed to abortion — and makes a case I have never heard in 30 years. Stuckenberg said he mourns the loss of at least one sibling he never had because his mother chose abortion. He goes into detail about this in the podcast.
The candidate also calls for shutting down the southern and northern borders, and for dramatically reducing taxes.
