Vance was talking about growing up in rural poverty. Many in Iowa relate. We need to understand the Democratic Party prefers Trump to Bernie Sanders.

You've got that right. The two primaries Bernie ran in for prez, proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the party leaders and insiders, would rather lose to Trump, than win in a landslide with Bernie..

An inspiring night!

No doubt Vance will request a couch on stage when he comes to Iowa.

Thanks for the recap, Doug. Nicely done. I snort-laughed when I got to this line: "... When JD Vance looks in the mirror he doesn't see any conviction at all."

Having Andy Brashear, a son of a former governor, tell people that JD Vance doesn’t understand the challenges of growing up working class in KY seems a bit rich and will likely ring hollow with voters in that area. Doug has worked with Ro Khanna enough in Appalachia to know Vance’s mother’s addiction, and the impact on the family, are far from a unique story in that region.

Thanks, Doug. The Democratic bench is full of women and men with great talent and inspiring stories. Thank you for bringing Gov. Beshear’s wit and wisdom to light.
