Thank you, Doug. Your story and Lanon's story are such a powerful reminder of, as you describe, the Iowa of our youth when this state soared; when vision and kindness, and big-heartedness prevailed. I pray we will become that Iowa again.

Great one. Hope you can bring him home.

General Ridgway knew that the All - Volunteer Army would corrupt it’s officer corps. The enlisted soldier made the system work but paid the price of real sacrifice as the American people walked away from its responsibility to support the enlisted vets and their family.
