This post dredged up a memory I hadn't thought about in years! When I was about seven I was riding my bike in our quiet suburban neighborhood. I rode toward my parents (who were standing on the other side of the street) without looking both ways first, and a car coming around the corner honked before stopping on a dime. It certainly made an impression on me and I don't think I ever did anything that stupid on a bike again.
Ah. Doug. We best not drive together. 🤣 I enjoy honking at people and when they’re especially irritating, I enjoy leaning on my horn until they understand me. I don’t consider it nastiness as much as I consider it transference of negative energy. 🤣
Of course I enjoyed this very much. Your statement about not knowing your horn in an audio lineup made me laugh. You're a careful driver, saving kids' lives!

👍Iowa nice!
Grew up in NW Iowa 40s/50s. Horns only purpose for Dad to let you know he was waiting for you in car.
Love the detail about the friend noticing your finger wave!
👍🏻Love my hometown!♥️ Great article Doug…😊

Nice! Thank you! I don't even scowl at people in our small town...
