Statue of Liberty, Tesla, deep dive into DEI, March Madness, books and updates on a moving documentary — all with filmmaker Nik Heftman

Iowa filmmaker Nik Heftman joins The Iowa Mercury’s Douglas Burns for a timely and wide-ranging discussion on DEI and Drake University President Marty Martin’s forceful and courageous stand on it, a France leader’s call for a return of the Statue of Liberty, the protests of Telsa, continued screenings of Nik’s documentary on spoken-word artist Caleb Rainey who performs under the name “The Negro Artist.”

Heftman and Burns also talk at length about an Iowa Writers’ Collaborative panel at the Des Moines Book Festival, and a history discussion led by Rachelle Chase at that event.

And much more …

Read dozens of the most talented writers in Iowa in just one place. The Iowa Writers' Collaborative spans the full state.
